In June 2017 Wade was diagnosed with Acromegaly, a rare disease which causes the body to produce too much growth hormone. While there is no cure for Acromegaly, treatment has allowed Wade to resume an active lifestyle with his wife and kids. Wade feels blessed to be living the life he wants to live.
